Racism in Society

If someone would be to ask you to define racism in three words what would they be? Skin color, language, & appearance would be you answer right because those are some of the first things you see  in a person and make prejudice towards someone. Racism is happening like Race.v.s Race to try to prove whose better, but It's only making both feel bad about each race and not proving anything. Racism is causing a lot of controversy in society. Things like the Micheal Brown incident are proof of racism and income amounts per races ,also proves racism. Racism needs to be reduce so less people won't get hurt and misjudged because of the color of their Skin or the name of that person that you don't even know anything about.
Some things in society.                                                            Have you ever heard the terms "Ohh she must love Starbucks "(white girls) or "He cuts grass"(Hispanics )those are terms that people in society think.  Just because you wear a scarf on your head doesn't mean you cause terrorism and make bombs. You are as unique as your fingerprint there is no other like it . No one can control your appearance not even Society that's why you need to do your own stuff to show you.Statistics show that in 2006 hispanics, African Americans ,and Asians had a lower income then whites.
Statistics
We are all human the skin doesn't make us slaves ,bean pickers ,or starbucks drinkers.Society brings many good things while it can bring a lot of negative things too.We can't judge a book by It's cover just because people told you things or you heard something. Everyone was born the same ,but not raised the same. Everyone needs to think before they say something because you never know if It's true or not..We're all human one way or the other.
We're all the same

  1. Michelle,

Great hook in your introduction. You were able to draw the reader in by asking an interesting and impacting question about race. The following is a bold statement... "Things like the Micheal Brown incident are proof of racism and income amounts per races ,also proves racism." Specifically where you say this proves racism. You want to make sure next time to back up that claim with evidence. Overall, your connection of the theory to social issues is good but you do not use a social theory to explain your phenomenon of racism. Something to consider for next time is to reach out if you need help understanding the theories or read over the directions more clearly
